Most mature Christians have studied God`s word, listened to hundreds of sermons, but have never been able to release their knowledge and understanding of the Christian faith to a new believer. Therefore, if you are a mature believer, have a good understanding of basic scripture, and want to help a new believer, or someone, who wants to grow in their faith, then you are an idea candidate for become a Discipleship Leader with ETS
A Discipleship Leader is a true disciple of Jesus Christ, who simply wants to put into action the Matthew 28:20 part of the Great Commission, which to teach others to obey what our Lord Himself commanded. At ETS Ministries, we feel this is best done on a one-to one basis, with you humbly buddying up with a new convert, or someone who is walking haphazardly in their faith. This could take 6 months to one year or more, but at least you will be proactive in doing your part. Many individual Christians are frustrated because in the midst of their willingness to ‘GO’, either their church has no discipleship structure in place, or there is no-one to support them through the discipleship journey. This is where ETS Ministries support and training comes in.
As part of a national team of Discipleship Leaders, you will make yourself available to disciple a maximum of two converts in any one given year, who have no-one else in their church to walk alongside them in their faith. ETS will first train you, give you a set of manuals, match you up with a convert ready to be discipled, and give you support during your first year. This can be carried out over Zoom or in person, depending on the distance. Or you have the option to disciple someone you personally have been instrumental in bringing them to the Lord (for instance, through witnessing or the Alpha course), but may not have had the confidence to know what to do with them after their decision to follow Christ.
At the Director’s discretion, you will become an accredited Discipleship Leader after your one-year commitment and be granted a certificate of completion.
