ETS were invited to equip four churches who needed help with their discipleship. There is indeed something unique and amazing about crossing borders and stepping onto another country’s soil. Firstly, everything is different; the main language, culture, look and feel of the place, let alone, the food. But most importantly, especially in poorer nations, the indigenous people have a deeper hunger and expectancy of what their God is going to do through visitors from abroad.
We preached in both Limassol and Nicosia and then provided our ETS training for the churches who came together, to learn how to disciple a new believer as these churches are growing.
Apart from our preaching program, we provided a programme in the afternoon which encouraged people to own their calling and to practice with one-to-one sessions, so they are prepared and have confidence to take on this role. We found that many Christians who took part really understood the need to learn how to help a new believer or someone who had backslidden in their faith. As a result of this training, the participants were now more confident to share their faith, as they had a structure to be able to equip them once a new believer asked Jesus into their lives.
Discipleship is a vital part of our ministry, as Jesus did not say go and make converts, but disciples! Therefore, we want to encourage existing church members, to embrace the power and authority to be change-makers in our World today.
There are many Churches throughout the world, who need are training, but cannot afford to help us with the flights, accommodation or even our manuals.
